There’s only one film that can be master of the movie theatre this weekend, and I’m guessing that it will be singing all the way to the bank come Sunday. Here are our predictions:

Les-miserables-movie-poster1Released on Christmas Day, Les Miserables has already grossed a stellar $30 million so far. With rave reviews from critics and an all-star cast featuring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway, the film is a lock for number one this weekend. Look for it bring in $45 million.

Find out how the rest of the weekend will do after the jump!
Django_Unchained_PosterDjango Unchained is the latest from Quentin Tarantino and has already set a record for best opening day for a Tarantino flick, bringing in $15 million on Christmas Day. The controversial film is R-rated, which doesn’t always play well around the holiday season, but Tarantino has his die-hards, not to mention a stellar cast that includes Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. Look for Django Unchained to hit third place with $22 million.

Parental_Guidance_film_posterThe family friendly Parental Guidance stars Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, neither of whom have had a hit in years. However, the duo will likely bring in an older demographic and has already seen some success since opening on Christmas Day. Look for Parental Guidance to grab fifth place with $14 million.

As for the rest of the top five, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will drop to second with $29 million, while Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher will claim fourth place with $15 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) Les Miserables – $45 million
2) The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – $29 million
3) Djnago Unchained – $22 million
4) Jack Reacher – $15 million
