It’s going to be a relatively quiet weekend at the box office with only one new debut. Will it knock off the reigning numero uno? Here’s our prediction.
Playing For Keeps is a new romantic comedy staring Gerald Butler and Jessica Biehn, neither of whom can really open a film. The marketing may hit home with women looking for something new now that Breaking Dawn Part 2 has been out for a while, but I don’t think this one will even make it into the top five. Look for it to show up in sixth or seventh spot with $6 million.
As for the rest of the weekend, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 should claim top spot once again with $10.5 million; Skyfall will be close behind with $10 million. Lincoln should continue its strong wrong with $9 million to hit third place, Life of Pi will grab fourth with $7 million while Rise Of The Guardians will close things out in fifth with $6.5 million.
So, to recap, here are our predictions:
1) The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 – $10.5
2) Skyfall – $10 million
3) Lincoln – $9 million
4) Life Of Pi – $7 million
5) Rise Of The Guardians – $6.5 million
