Breaking Dawn Doesn’t Quite Break Records – Biff Bam Pop’s Weekend Box Office Wrap-Up Report

As predicted, it was a huge weekend at the box office for the final Twilight film. Meanwhile, Bond continued to rake in the dough, while Spielberg’s Lincoln also opened strongly in wide release. Here’s what happened.

The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn Part 2 nearly broke the franchise opening weekend record, bringing in a stellar $141 million, just $1 million shy of New Moon’s record. The film clearly brought in the Twihards, and was actually the best reviewed entry in the series (not that that’s saying much). Next weekend will be the American Thanksgiving, and the film should continue its reign at the top for at least one more weekend, but it will be interesting to see what the drop off will be like week to week.

Check out how the rest of the weekend turned out after the jump!
