Watch With Amanda: First look at Bates Motel, Chevy Chase drops out and more TV news!

A&E has released their first photo of the upcoming much hyped Psycho prequel, Bates Motel. The photo features a teenage Norman Bates played by Finding Neverland‘s Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as his Mother. The series from executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) is scheduled to air some time in 2013 and gives a contemporary look at Norman’s earlier years, including his storied relationship with his mother all while revealing how the infamous serial killer came to be. Are you excited for this one?

American Horror Story: Asylum, Episode 6-The Origins of Monstrosity

Prior to last night’s episode, I had a conversation with fellow BBP contributor Marie Gilbert about the first season of American Horror Story and she observed that in spite of everyone dying in the season’s finale, it was sort of a happy ending. The family is happier together as ghosts than they were in life. We also observed that a happy ending seems unlikely this time around. The depravity is definitely cranked up and there is a crushing darkness that lingers over every episode.
