We’ve heard the rumors and prayed they were true, but it finally here – the return of Super Gorilla Grodd on The Flash, and this time we get to see Gorilla City. Team Flash goes on the hunt for their friend, the Earth-Two Harrison (Harry) Wells, who’s been captured by Grodd, and it just gets worse from there. Meet me after the super-speed cross-dimensional jump for my review of “Attack on Gorilla City.”
Now that it’s been sorta established that Iris has a death wish, what better time for her suspected murder from the comics, Clive Yorkin, to make his live action debut? And can The Flash make Kid Flash fast enough to save her from her future death? Find out after the super speed jump in my review of “Untouchable.”
H.R., the Harrison Wells from Earth-19 has been a lot of things we did not expect, but a criminal? The Flash must get ready as a bounty hunter from Earth-19 is here to for H.R., and for Cisco, it’s both love at first sight, but also a battle to the death with Gypsy. Meet me after the extra-dimensional jump for my thoughts on “Dead or Alive.”
This week in Heroes and Villains our selection of new Marvel Comics includes two superhero teams, one elder and one younger, a major villain of a completely different universe, Star Wars, and the best and most fun new super-heroine of the year so far. Meet me after the jump for my thoughts on Avengers #4, Champions #5, Darth Maul #1, and The Unstoppable Wasp #2!
In the last episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the team was under attack more from within than without. Radcliffe and Aida have placed a May LMD in their midst to snatch the Darkhold, and if that’s not bad enough, there’s also a mole passing info to the ex-Hydra Watchdogs. And when will the real May “Wake Up”? Find out after the jump.
When last we left The Flash, Savitar had not only dropped a prophecy of doom upon Team Flash, but momentarily propelled our hero into the near future where he witnessed the death of Iris at the hands of the villain. Now time marches toward that event, can the Flash stop it from happening? Find out after the time jump in my review of “Borrowing Problems from the Future.”
We have been bereft of new Doctor Who for an entire year (“The Power of the Daleks” doesn’t count), since the last Christmas special, “The Husbands of River Song,” a madcap and bittersweet conclusion to the River Song saga. To trump that adventure, showrunner Steven Moffat pulls a new rabbit from his hat – Doctor Who does superheroes. Meet me after the jump for my thoughts on “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.”
You can find the first part of our trilogy of lists here, which showcases a number of more affordable trade paperback collections.

With only a few days to go before Christmas, and without further ado, here is the final installment of our list of comic book collections for the 201 6holiday season!
The Dominion invasion is over. The heroes have gone home to their home cities and/or home dimensions. The Flash has had a brief intermission from both Savitar and Doctor Alchemy, but that’s about to change with this episode. A visit to Earth-Two to see Jay Garrick is probably the best present I can think of for the holiday break, but there’s more, good and bad on its way. Meet me after the super-speed extra-dimensional jump, for my thoughts on “The Present.”
The television crossover event of the season, Heroes v Aliens, concludes here in this week’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. To catch up on the Dominion’s attack on the Earth, you can click here for the first night with Supergirl, here for the second night with The Flash, and here for the offbeat third part coinciding with the 100th episode of Arrow. After probing the minds of five of our heroes, the Dominators have constructed a weapon to use on us. As their mothership approaches the Earth for their final assault, can the united heroes of our world save us? Find out after the jump in my review of the concluding chapter of “Invasion!”
