Fly High With ‘Hawkman Found’ on The Wednesday Run

It’s the last Wednesday of 2017.

Sniff. Sniff.

Thanks for reading along with The Wednesday Run through the last three hundred and sixty-five days – well, fifty-two installments of it, anyway. Hopefully, there have been one or two comic books that we’ve featured here this year that you’ve dug as much as we have.

Good news!

2018 is just a week away, and, looking through all of the upcoming releases for the year, it looks like there’s plenty of comic books to highlight in this column and keep our fingers excitedly turning page after page!

But before we get into that, we’ve got one ore highlight to focus in on this year….and it’s like shining a light under a rock, because this particular character hasn’t been seen in a long, long time.

Good news, everybody! Hawkman’s been found in, well, Hawkman Found #1!

Hawkman, Carter Hall, has been missing form the DC Universe for a number of years now. And it’s a bit of a mystery on how that’s actually happened. Much of that is due to character mismanagement via a convoluted and long history, but also because DC just hasn’t been able to find a suitable place for one of their greatest heroes to operate within.

Despite his “unavailability”, Hawkman has been at the center of DC’s most recent, and still ongoing, epic storyline, Metal. Carter Hall, you see, knows all about the mysterious “metal” that is the Dark Universe’s most potent weapon – and the most powerful substance that could defeat them.

With Metal, DC aims to bring Hawkman back into his rightful place in the DC Universe – front and center with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash,

Written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Kevin Nowlan and Bryan Hitch, Hawkman Found, a one-shot issue, will tell the tale of how the hero went missing…and, of course, how he was found, tying directly into the ongoing Metal miniseries.

Make the run to your local comic book shop today and pickup Hawkman Found – and rediscover the greatest hero to have disappeared!
