It’s the Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S.A., which means folks should be heading to the movies in droves to check out the decent offering of flicks waiting to be seen. Which will be on top, though? Here’s our prediction:
Moana is the new animated Disney film starring the vocal talents of Dwayne The Rock Johnson, arguably the biggest movie star on the planet right now. The team of up of The Rock and Disney should make this film the family choice for the weekend, and Moana should have no trouble hitting the top with $75 million.
As for the rest of the top five, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit second place with $37 million. Trolls should continue its winning ways with $15 million to land in third place, with Marvel’s Doctor Strange right behind it with $13 million. Meanwhile, the new Brad Pitt film Allied, directed from Robert Zemeckis, will likely open soft with $11 million.
So, to recap, here are our predictions:
1) Moana – $75 million
2) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – $37 million
3) Trolls – $15 million
