The synopsis for this episode reads: “The Avengers and the Cabal have a huge confrontation that leaves the team forever changed…” Forever changed, eh? In the comics that might mean a death, but in this kids cartoon perhaps we’re looking at a membership shuffling. It also doesn’t say which team. Find out for sure after the jump when I review “By the Numbers.”
An excellent weekend at the box office, as Noah managed to float to the top above all comers. Here’s what went down:
Noah debut at number one with an excellent $45 million. Clearly, audiences were excited to see this legendary biblical story told with some flashy effects. However, Noah shouldn’t get too comfortable, as next weekend sees the release of another blockbuster film that will take it down.
As for the rest of the top five, Divergent was in at number two with a very healthy $25 million. The film is only $6 million away from crossing the $100 million mark and is an absolute success. Muppets Most Wanted was in third place with $10 million, Mr. Peabody & Sherman hit fourth with $9 million while God’s Not Dead closed things out in fifth with $8.6.
So, to recap, here were our predictions:
1) Noah – $50 million
2) Divergent – $20 million
3) Muppets Most Wanted – $13 million
4) Mr. Peabody & Sherman – $12 million
5) The Grand Budapest Hotel – $8 million
