Will Need For Speed Race To The Top? Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions

Do you feel the Need For Speed? If so, you’ll likely be hitting theaters this weekend. Then again, a reigning Empire could maintain its lock on the top. What will go down? Here’s our prediction:

Need_For_Speed_posterNeed for Speed stars Aaron Paul in the adaptation of the long lasting, popular video game series. That’s both a pro and con, since video game flicks don’t tend to do well at the box office. While tv audiences love Paul for his role on Breaking Bad, he has yet to prove he can open a major film. On that note, look for Need For Speed to open in second place with $24 million.

As for the rest of the top five, look for 300: Rise Of An Empire to maintain its lock on top of the box office. It should narrowly hold off Need For Speed with $25.5 million, though it will certainly be interesting to watch these two films duke it out. Mr. Peabody & Sherman will grab third place with $19 million, Non-Stop will hit fourth with $15 million, while another new release, Tyler Pery’s The Single Moms Club will close things out in fifth with $14.5 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) 300: Rise Of An Empire – $25.5 million
2) Need For Speed – $24 million
3) Mr. Peabody & Sherman – $19 million
4) Non-Stop – $15 million
5) Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club – $14.5 million
