‘Okja’ Launches On Netflix and in Select Theaters This Wednesday, June 28!

This Wednesday sees the arrival of the critically acclaimed film Okja on Netflix. Our friends there sent over a featurette on the film that had everyone talking at Cannes.

Director Bong Joon Ho’s desire to work with the most talented actors and craftspeople in their respective fields resulted in a global production that brought together a diverse pool of talent both in front of and behind the camera. Shot across several countries, oceans apart, Director Bong united cultures with his singular vision: a story of love and friendship that is truly universal.

In the featurette below, the cast and filmmakers of Okja describe how they transcended borders to bring their story to the screen. For 10 idyllic years, young Mija (An Seo Hyun) has been caretaker and constant companion to Okja—a massive animal and an even bigger friend—at her home in the mountains of South Korea. But that changes when a family owned multinational conglomerate Mirando Corporation takes Okja for themselves and transports her to New York, where image obsessed and self-promoting CEO Lucy Mirando (Tilda Swinton) has big plans for Mija’s dearest friend. Trailer Time: Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Okja’


Netflix reveals the official trailer for the upcoming film Okja, which includes the first full look at the massive animal at the heart of director Bong Joon Ho’s latest film, which will have its world premiere at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
