Doctor Who S09 E12: Hell Bent

Remember that old rule? You know the one. “The Doctor lies.” It’s not just him. It’s his heritage. It’s his people. Just because The Doctor comes from the Time Lords of Gallifrey, some new schoolers might guess that the Time Lords are the good guys. Not true. The Time Lords are among The Doctor’s greatest enemies. They lie, don’t forget this. They fear him. Proof positive, meet me after the jump for my thoughts on “Hell Bent.”

With Clara Oswald presumed dead (don’t count your chickens, or ravens, and all that), and The Doctor captured and sold to a mysterious enemy, then teleported away, things are not looking good for the multi-part end of a “Doctor Who” season that has been almost all cliffhangers. With this episode, we may be looking at the biggest one yet. Meet me after the time and space jump for my thoughts on “Heaven Sent.”

Clara and Kate Lethbridge-Stewart are possibly dead, with the evil Bonnie blowing up The Doctor’s plane with a rocket launcher – what next? Find out after the time and space jump, in my review of “The Zygon Inversion.”

31 Days of Horror 2015: Doctor Who S09 E03: Under the Lake

doc1

With the Davros diversion behind him, and Missy/The Master off cavorting with the Supreme Dalek back in time, we are somewhat back to status quo with “Doctor Who.” That is if we ignore the news of an upcoming new spin-off called “Class” about the kids at the Coal Hill School, we can go back to running around time and space with The Doctor and Clara. Meet me after the time and space jump when Biff Bam Pop’s 31 Days of Horror crosses over with “Doctor Who” and our heroes face ghosts “Under the Lake.”

Doctor Who S09 E02: The Witch’s Familiar

Doctor Who” showrunner Steven Moffat certainly knows how to launch a series with a cliffhanger. When last we saw The Doctor and his unconventional entourage, things were looking very bad indeed. Missy AKA The Master and Clara Oswald had been exterminated by Daleks, The TARDIS has been destroyed, and The Doctor has been confronted by his old archenemy, the dying Davros, at the dawn of the Daleks, with a chance to end the Dalek threat forever… but what are the real consequences?
