I can’t believe it’s the end of season 3. Episode 15 was a true nail biter, and I’m not talking about the Governor’s favorite finger food. Bad pun, I know, but if you watched last week’s show, then you’ll get it. Michonne’s life was in Merle’s hands. Glenn proposed to Maggie and the zombies are invited to the wedding. Rick gives the power back to Team Prison. What’s on the ballot? Stay, or run like hell. In the end Merle turns out to be a good guy, but we all know what that means; no good deed goes unpunished. The Governor is ready to attack, and Andrea is still a prisoner. What else could go wrong? Find out after the jump.
The Governor is beating up someone. Who is it, Andrea? No… It’s Milton. When you stand up to a dictator and lose, you pay for it. The Governor brings Milton to where Andrea is held captive and orders Milton to kill her. Milton turns on the Governor and loses. That nasty Governor leaves the dying Milton with Andrea and heads to the prison to attack his enemy. What the Governor doesn’t know is that Milton left pliers on the floor next to Andrea, in hopes that she will escape. It’s a race against time. Can Andrea get out of her restraints before Milton morphs into a zombie?
They’re packing all their possessions and leaving the prison. Rick sees his ghost wife. Will she bring the team good luck? Tensions are high and Carl is angry. This kid has gone through a lot. Michonne and Rick talk, she forgives him; he welcomes her into the team. Where are they going?
Team Woodbury
The Governor is inciting a riot. Getting the townsfolk riled up and ready to rumble, but Tyreese and Sasha don’t want this fight and offer to stay behind to guard the town. The Governor hands Tyreese a weapon and thanks him, but you know there’ll be revenge when he returns. The Governor and his troops arrive at the prison and start shooting and blowing everything up. But except for the zombies, they get no reaction. The Governor and the troops finally enter the prison, but it’s a ghost town. Where is Team Prison? I don’t think the Governor noticed the “For Sale” sign as he entered.
Andrea
Milton is dying, he tells Andrea that she has to hurry, but she wants to talk. She tells Milton that she stayed with the Governor because she was trying to save everyone. She wanted everyone to live. Stop talking and pick up those pliers! She kicks off her boots and tries to use her toes to pick up the pliers. The clock is ticking. Where are my Tums?
When the Governor and his troops enter one of the cell blocks, there’s an explosion and an army of zombies coming at them. As the Governor and his people retreat, they are ambushed by Team Prison; yes!!! The Woodbury team retreats and heads for the hills. One young man runs into Carl and Hershel. Even though the kid surrenders, Carl shoots him dead. Hershel is shocked and tells Rick. When Rick questions Carl, the boy tells him it was self-defense. Rick tells him it was murder; Carl, who is trying to survive in a dying world, replies, “I did what I had to do.” He drops the badge as he walks away from Rick. Team Prison prepares for their attack on Woodbury.
Andrea
Milton wakes up, he’s now a zombie and he’s heading right for Andrea who is still struggling to free herself. Where are my Tums?
The Governor wants to return to the prison and fight, but the townsfolk are afraid. They’re not soldiers and they don’t want to go back and fight Team Prison. How does the Governor react? He kills everyone, including Allen, and then drives away with a cautious Martinez and Travis.
Team Prison
On their way to Woodbury, Rick, Michonne and Daryl find a survivor, Karen (Melissa Ponzio) who tells them what the Governor did. When they reach the town, Karen convinces Tyreese and Sasha to trust Rick and his team. They go looking for Andrea.
Big, Big, Spoiler Alert!!
They find Andrea. She’s alive and Milton is dead, but he was able to bite Andrea before she killed him. Michonne stays with Andrea while she kills herself. Rick, Tyreese and Daryl, hear the shot. This was heartbreaking.
Merger
Team Prison returns with Tyreese, Sasha, Karen and a bus load of townsfolk. They are joining forces. But where is the Governor? I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. Do you?
We lost an important part of Team Prison. It’s going to take a long time to get over Andrea not being on the show. Rick has to help his son. Carl needs to know that even in a dying world, you live and let live. It was nice seeing Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) on the Talking Dead explaining the events of tonight’s show. Heads up! Watch MTV’s Movie Awards, 9p.m. on April 14th to catch celebrities like Will Ferrell turn into zombies.
What a tense finale! I was at the edge of my seat and loved how it all resolved with Andrea. I hated her not being on the show anymore, but I also loved how the writers put everything together and left some things outstanding. Minor issues, though. Ugh, now we have to wait forever for Season 4!!!
Great, great post, btw! 😉
It was tense. I had a hard time falling asleep. I quess Michonne and Maggie will step up to Andrea’s role of Wonder Woman. I wonder if they’ll feature more on Judith
