One of my favorite super-villains from the mythos of The Flash makes his live-action debut in this self-titled episode – Abra Kadabra. From the Silver Age to the Modern Age he remains one of the Flash’s most dangerous foes. Meet me after the magical jump for my thoughts on “Abra Kadabra.”
With Savitar free again as of our last episode, the villain trapped Wally in the Speed Force. Can The Flash save Kid Flash from a fate worse than death? Or does the Speed Force require something more sinister from our hero? Meet me after the extra-dimensional jump for my thoughts on “Into the Speed Force.”
With the return of Super Gorilla Grodd behind us and the infamous musical crossover episodes with Supergirl still ahead of us, it’s time to get back to business for The Flash. The specter of Savitar still haunts Team Flash, and the hope of changing the future gets dimmer and dimmer, what happens when the villain reaches out from the Speed Force at our heroes? Meet me after the super speed jump to find out what happens when Kid Flash faces “The Wrath of Savitar.”
When last we left The Flash, Savitar had not only dropped a prophecy of doom upon Team Flash, but momentarily propelled our hero into the near future where he witnessed the death of Iris at the hands of the villain. Now time marches toward that event, can the Flash stop it from happening? Find out after the time jump in my review of “Borrowing Problems from the Future.”
The Dominion invasion is over. The heroes have gone home to their home cities and/or home dimensions. The Flash has had a brief intermission from both Savitar and Doctor Alchemy, but that’s about to change with this episode. A visit to Earth-Two to see Jay Garrick is probably the best present I can think of for the holiday break, but there’s more, good and bad on its way. Meet me after the super-speed extra-dimensional jump, for my thoughts on “The Present.”
The cliffhanger last episode introduced what is to be one of the major big bads this season, Savitar, the god of speed, but I think the Flash will have his hands full this time with a more closer, intimate threat – his friend and Team Flash mate Caitlin Snow is on her way to becoming Killer Frost! Meet me after the super speed jump for my thoughts on this week’s Kevin Smith-directed episode “Killer Frost!”
Flashpoint, though avoided, has still caused much damage to the Flash and his friends. Among those threats are those awoken by Doctor Alchemy to their powered Flashpoint selves. Things get worse when Wally starts to realize he was Kid Flash. Meet me after the super speed jump for my thoughts on “Shade.”
We’ve been given a gift as far as superhero television goes in The Flash. Not only have we’ve gotten a terrific, accessible, and entertaining TV series about superheroes, they have also gone above and beyond when it comes to presenting hardcore comic book mythos on the small screen. After all, who would have ever thought we’d ever get the DC Multiverse on prime time TV? We have the Invasion, Gorilla City, and more crossovers and team-ups coming, but what else could we get? Meet me after the super speed jump and I’ll give you my top ten things I want to see on The Flash!
