While Guns n Roses welcomed audiences to the jungle at Coachella this weekend, audiences flocked to The Jungle Book in theatres, giving it an excellent opening weekend. Here’s what went down:
The live action adaptation of the classic Disney’s The Jungle Book debut this weekend with an outstanding $103 million – the second biggest April opening ever, only surpassed by last year’s $147 for Furious 7. The reviews were solid and families clearly were enticed to check out director Jon Favreau’s latest film. The Jungle Book should be able to maintain its hold on the top spot for at least one more week, with only The Huntsman: Winter’s War the real film of note opening over the next few weekend’s.
