It’s the eve before New Year’s Eve, and we’ve got one, final Wednesday Run to go on before the turn of the calendar.

Just over a year ago, fan favourites and critically acclaimed creators, Scott Snyder and Jock, began their Wyches mini-series via publisher Image Comics. A take on the classic witch motif, their story had a dark, twisted, and entirely riveting origin.
Wyches, originally featured in this very column back on October 8, 2014, was a deliciously dark series – meant to be the first chapter of a series of tales, the second of which will be released very soon. Don’t worry, the Wednesday Run will remind you of it.
Now, Image Comics is giving the first issue of volume one the Artists’ Proof Edition treatment. This is a format that the publishing company is reserving for very specific and very particular issues of artistic merit. Black Science (another fantastic series) was the first to receive such treatment, showcasing the art of series artist, Matteo Scalera. Now, it’s Wytches turn – featuring the stunning art of British artist, Jock.
