SUMMARY:

Of all the ‘Rising Stars’ that I will be featuring in my Actor Trading Card series, very few can compare with my level of excitement toward the career of Tom Hiddleston. This guy has true star power written all over him! Not only has he embedded himself into the world of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) by portraying the role of ‘Loki’, he also has major roles in this October’s highly anticipated horror film Crimson Peak (directed by fan favorite Guillermo del Toro) and 2017’s Kong: Skull Island.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Best Known For: Thor, The Avengers & Thor: The Dark World (‘Loki’), War Horse (‘Capt. Nicholls’), The Hollow Crown TV Mini-Series (‘Prince Hal’)

Breakout Role (according to the masses): Loki

Breakout Role (according to Leo Craven): Loki
– Unless you’ve been living on a deserted island with no access to the internet since 2011, you know Tom Hiddleston for his role as ‘Loki’. While there are other comic book villain performances that may rank higher on ‘Top 10’ lists (Ledger’s Joker, Terence Stamp’s General Zod), part of what makes Hiddleston’s Loki so great is you can hate him in one scene and then find yourself rooting for him in the next.

Box Office Status: Rising Star

Next Project to Look Out for: Crimson Peak (October 16th)

Most Famous Scene: “Loki talking with Odin” in 2011’s Thor (One of the next generation’s best villains in a scene with Anthony Hopkins, the actor who defined ‘villain’ for my generation):

AWARDS:

Nominated for Favorite Character (MTV Movie Awards) in 2014 for “Thor: The Dark World”

Won for Best Villain (MTV Movie Awards) in 2013 for “The Avengers”

Nominated for Rising Star Award (BAFTA Awards) in 2012

ONE LAST THING:

If you’re only able to make it to the theater for one movie this Halloween season, make it Crimson Peak:
