It’s Star Wars Reads Day 2015!

As we inch closer and closer to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, any bit of Star Warsian goodness seems cause for celebration. This week definitely had some pretty cool things to get excited about.

First, a new batch of Force Awakens figures were revealed, including the very first Han Solo figure in the line. This may just have to be an addition to my workspace.

We also had the Star Wars Battlefront free BETA launch on Playstation 4. The game looks absolutely fantastic, and our own Luke Sneyd gave us a rundown of his experience trying the BETA himself.

As our friends at DK Canada tell us, “With over 2,000 bookstores, libraries, and school participating across North America in 2014, this year’s edition of Star Wars Reads Day is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever.” And DK should know, seeing as how they’re the publishers of a fantastic line of Star Wars titles, from kids readers to massive hardcovers that include timelines, histories and more. My daughter, who you may recall is a pretty big Star Wars fan herself, and I have combing through DK’s latest titles – the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stickerscapes and the trivia laden Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know – The Journey to the Force Awakens. Both are pretty solid primers for anyone with kids and who is eagerly anticipating the next piece of Star Wars movie lore.

For more information about what’s happening in your area for Star Wars Reads Day IV, head over to the DK Canada website. Plus, while you’re there, you can also download some activity pages for yourself…or your kid, whoever you prefer. I’m not judging.

Have an awesome Star Wars Reads Day and, as always, may the force be with you!
