Pennywise Returns This Weekend in ‘IT: Chapter Two’

It’s a big weekend at the box office as the final stand between Pennywise and The Losers Club takes place.

IT: Chapter Two brings back director Andy Muschietti and Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise in the sequel to the hugely successful 2017 film, IT. This time out, it’s 27 years following the battle between the Losers Club and Pennywise; everybody is grown up, but as you can guess, some clowns refuse to die.

Among the grown-up actors starring in IT: Chapter Two are Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and James McAvoy; an outstanding cast, to be sure. The hype is huge for the film, even if reviews aren’t quite as strong as the original film. The first film debuted with $123 million and many are thinking that number is too lofty a goal for the sequel to come close to. I’m going to be a little bold and predict that IT: Chapter Two will come close, debuting in first place with $118 million.

As for the rest of the top five, don’t expect much from the other films in release. Angel Has Fallen will be in second place with $5 million. Good Boys will be in third place with $4.5 million. Disney’s The Lion King grab fourth place with $4 million, while Overcomer will close things out in fifth place with $3 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) IT: Chapter Two – $118 million
2) Angel Has Fallen – $5 million
3) Good Boys – $4.5 million
4) Disney’s The Lion King – $4 million
5) Overcomer – $3 million

Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how the weekend turns out!
