Tim Burton’s Live Action ‘Dumbo’ Debuts on Top of the Weekend Box Office

It wasn’t a great weekend for Disney’s latest live action adaption of one of their classic animated features, as Dumbo wasn’t able to really catch flight.

Amidst lackluster reviews, the Tim Burton film debut with a less than stellar $45 million. That’s far off from his Alice in Wonderland adaptation from back in 2010, which arrived with $110 million. As for Disney, they’ll be able to take the loss on Dumbo, what with owning Marvel and Star Wars.

The film has already crossed the $100 million mark in North America. Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel was in third place with $20.5 million, raising its total to $353 million.
