Is this the end of Madea? That just might be the case, as the supposed final film in Tyler Perry’s franchise hits screens this weekend.
Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral could be the nail in the character’s coffin, but rest assured she’ll be going out with a bang. The series (10+ films) have been a going concern since 2005, and the majority of them have pulled in decent box office numbers. Look for A Madea Family Funeral to wrap things up with $24 million and a second place debut this weekend.
As for the rest of the top five, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will hold on to the top spot at the box office for a second weekend with $34 million. Alita: Battle Angel will be in third place with $9 million, with The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part following behind it in fourth with $8 million. Fighting With My Family will close things out in fifth place with $5 million.
