‘The Incredibles 2’ delivers a record-breaking debut weekend

It was a simply Incredible debut for the return of a film franchise that’s been dormant for 14 years. Clearly, when it comes to The Parr family, absence makes the heart grow flounder.

The Incredibles 2 deliver a record-breaking debut weekend, bringing in an estimated $180 million. That’s far above what most pundits anticipated, and gives the film the biggest opening ever for an animated movie, topping Finding Dory’s $135 million. Strong reviews and audience anticipation clearly pushed The Incredibles 2 towards these amazing heights, but it shouldn’t get comfortable, as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrives in theatres next Friday.

As for the rest of the top five, Ocean’s 8 was in second place with $19.6 million. Tag debut in third place with $14.6 million, while Solo: A Star Wars Story was in fourth place with $9.8 million. Deadpool 2 closed things out in fifth place with $8.8 million.
