‘Fate of the Furious’ Looking to Drive Over the Competition This Weekend

This weekend, it’s a Furious world, and we’re just living in it. What will be the fate for the eighth instalment in a venerable franchise? Here’s our prediction:

furious

Against all odds and expectations, the Furious franchise continues to bring in incredible numbers with each new movie. Last time, 2015’s Fast and the Furious 7 arrived with $147 million for it’s opening weekend. That’s a huge haul, and one that The Fate of the Furious might have a hard time reaching. However, even if it does come in under that number just a bit, we should be looking at an incredible debut weekend. Look for a first place showing for The Fate of the Furious with $135 million.

As for the rest of the top five, The Boss Baby will land in second place with $18 million. Beauty and the Beast will be in third place with $13 million. Smurfs: The Lost Village will be in fourth place with $7 million, while Going In Style will close things out in fifth place with $6.5 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) Fate of the Furious – $135 million
2) The Boss Baby – $18 million
3) Beauty and the Beast – $13 million
4) Smurfs: The Lost Village – $7 million
5) Going In Style – $6.5 million

Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how the weekend turns out!
