Biff Bam Pop’s Holiday Gift Guide Day 2 – Stephen King’s 11/22/63 Giveaway!

Just how good is Stephen King’s new time travelling epic novel 11/22/63? Well, for the first time in his career a King novel has made the New York Times list of the 10 Best Books of 2011. It only took him fifty-one tries. Safe to say, there’s something special about this one.

In 11/22/63, high school teacher Jake Epping travels back to Dallas, Texas to stop the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Once there, he assumes a new identity and attempts to change the world.

11/22/63 has been scoring Stephen King some of the best reviews of his career; so much so that people who haven’t read Stephen King novels in years, if ever, are picking up the book. It does make sense though, as the subject matter is something that would resonate strongly with a mass audience. King has been on a stellar roll in the last few years with novels like Cell and Under The Dome (which I highly recommend to readers as well), and it appears that his string of solid later works continues. There are a few books that are making Biff Bam Pop’s Holiday Gift Guide, and 11/23/63 is one of the best.

  1. The Body, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemtion, The Shining, Dolores Claiborne! Too many favorites to name one!

  2. re-read Salem’s Lot, due to the SK week review here. glad i did.

  3. The Eyes of the Dragon was the first Stephen King book I read, and still one of my favorites.

  4. I’m a classics kinda girl. Carrie. Also, I can totally relate. However, a short story of his called Dolan’s Cadillac has given me chills for at least 15 years, and I still think about it any time I see a highway detour sign.

  5. The Gunslinger. The character of Roland is timeless.

  6. Congrats to David T! He’s the winner of Stephen King’s 11/22/63, courtesy of Simon and Schuster! Thanks to everyone for entering!
