It’s been a minute! Four whole years worth of minutes, to be exact, but Sachin Hingoo and Gary Heather are back with our podcast about beloved and not-so-beloved TV series, TV or GTFO!
On TV or GTFO we recap and review the series premiere of a show, then fast forward to the end of it’s run to recap the series finale to see what’s changed. This time, Sachin and Gary cover the bizarre but overwhelmingly popular sitcom, ALF.
ALF (Alien Life Form) was created by Paul Fusco and Tom Patchett, and ran for four seasons on NBC from 1986 to 1990. The show follows a weirdly hairy alien who crashes into a family’s garage and shacks up with them (literally). Sachin and Gary recap the series premiere, the intricate and soul-punishing production of the show, and the completely unsatisfying series finale that leaves a whole lot of questions unanswered. We also chat about ALF‘s impact on culture, the unsettling full-body puppetry on display, ALF’s sexuality (vomit emoji), and the complete lack of impact he appears to have on the Tanner family over four years!
