The Terminator won’t be back after disastrous ‘Dark Fate’ debut

It was a total disaster at the box office this weekend for Terminator: Dark Fate. There’s just no way around it. I’m sorry to all the Terminator fans out there, especially the ones who enjoyed the film for what it was. Clearly, though, you’re in the minority.

Terminator: Dark Fate debut on top of the box office, but it did so with an absolutely terrible $29 million. That’s well below the $40 minute tracking the film was initially looking at. Clearly, general audiences just couldn’t care about movie, even with better than average reviews that appeared and the return of Linda Hamilton. There’s no question that this should be the final nail in the coffin for the Terminator franchise.

As for the rest of the top five, Joker was in second place with $13.9 million. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil was in this with $12.1 million, followed right behind in fourth place by the debuting Harriet with $12 million. The Addams Family closed things out in fifth place with $8.5 million.
