It wasn’t quite an every record-breaking weekend at the box office, but it was darn close, as Avengers: Endgame hit some lofty goals.
Endgame brought in an estimated $145.8 million to give it the second highest second weekend in box office history, falling just short of Star Wars: The Force Awakens $149 million. However, the movie did cross the $600 million mark in a record ten days, which is pretty remarkable. Endgame’s current tally stands at $619 million in North America, with a worldwide total of $2.188 billion, making it now the second biggest film of all time (unadjusted for inflation).
As for the rest of the top five, it really wasn’t a great weekend for new releases. The Intruder debut in second place with $11 million, followed close behind in third by Long Shot with $10 million. The poorly review Ugly Dolls could only muster up $8.5 million, while Marvel Studios’ Captain America closed things out in fifth with $4.3 million.
1) Avengers: Endgame – $155 million
2) Long Shot – $13 million
3) Ugly Dolls – $10.5 million
4) The Intruder – $10 million
5) Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel – $6 million
