As the final weekend of the summer comes to a close, the box office results were fairly predictable, with Crazy Rich Asians once again holding down the top spot. The film brought in another $22.5 million, to raise its three week total to $116 million.
As for the rest of the top five, The Meg was in second place for another weekend, bringing in $10.5 million. Mission: Impossible – Fallout was in third place with $7 million, while new release Operation Finale debut in fourth place with $6.6 million. Finally, Searching expanded its release and managed to show up in fifth place with $5.7 million.
So, to recap, here were our predictions:
1) Crazy Rich Asians – $19 million
2) The Meg – $7 million
3) Operation Finale – $6.5 million
4) Mission: Impossible – Fallout – $5.5 million
5) Searching – $5 million
And here’s the how the three-day weekend has turned out:
1) Crazy Rich Asians – $22.5 million
2) The Meg – $10.5 million
3)Mission: Impossible – Fallout – $7 million
4) Operation Finale – $6.6 million
5) Searching – $5.7 million
