31 Days Of Horror 2025 Presents ‘Hello Halloween #1’ On The Wednesday Run

We’re now in the back half of October, the Spooky Season, and our all-time favourite season around these parts of the pop culture interwebs.

Of course, it’s a busy time of year, what with the lawn decorations, the costumes, the parties, the purchasing of treats, the pumpkin carving, the horror-themed movie viewing.

Like a bunch of horror movies and their plethora of sequels, it doesn’t seem to end.

With all the comings and goings, household visitor hauntings (and seemingly limitless and frantic little hauntings if you’ve got small kids) this month, it doesn’t leave a lot of time for horror-tinged reading. And that’s exactly why the short-story comic book anthology makes for perfect, spooky reading.

Just over a year ago, Boom! Studios started publishing a fantastic horror-themed anthology series, written and illustrated by a plethora of the comic industry’s greats. Hello Darkness (an absolutely great title) has since been compiled into two separate soft-cover volumes that you should look into if you haven’t already.

Now, just in time for Halloween and your naturally short intervals of reading availability, Hello Darkness has released an inaugural spooky season special, perfectly named Hello Halloween #1

Cover of the comic book 'Hello Halloween #1', featuring a pumpkin-headed figure and a skeleton amidst autumn leaves, with a spooky atmosphere.

Furnished in your choice of terrifying multiple covers by greats such as Frazier Irving, Jenny Frisson, Drew Rausch, Jeremy Bastian and Mattia De Iulis, Hello Halloween is chock full of spooky stories by a number of spooky greats!

Leading the list of creators with stories in Hello Halloween #1 and it’s clutch of nightmare tales is the legendary and masterful R.L. Stine (Goosebumps, Fear Street, The Nightmare Room) and Carola Borelli, who provide eager readers with a brand-new Graveyard Club story – so all fans of that publication take note!

Joining Stein are short and blood-curdling and wonderful offerings by a plethora of great creators like Robert Hack, Megan Hutchison, Shawn Patrick Boyd, Elijah Henry and others.

Hello Halloween #1, the Spooky Season one-off anthology makes for great reading for you or an enticing stocking stuffer for a horror-loving family or friend. It’s perfect for a deepening of your October ambiance.

Just make sure the doors are locked and the hallway night-light is on when you go to bed. If you go to bed!

On that tantalizing note, make the run to your local comic book shop today and pick up the fantastic frights offered inside Hello Halloween #1!
