31 Days of Horror 2025 Presents An Exclusive Interview with Musician Sean Keller

Everyone, meet Sean Keller. [Sean, everyone. Everyone, Sean.]

We’ll assume Sean says, “Hi.”

Sean is the co-writer of the Hulu original movie All That We Destroy which was great if, like me, you’re terrified of sterile environments and delight in their desecration and corruption. Keller wrote the book, music, and lyrics for the stage musical SLASHED!, all about the wacky, raucous events at Camp Doom. He’s also a professor, an actor, and probably a lot more things I don’t know about. Most pertinent to this year’s 31 Days of Horror here at Biff Bam Pop, Keller and his friends have created a quartet of Halloween-themed albums, known as The Killer Sounds of Halloween, all of which you can purchase from Bandcamp at the price point of the beast, $6.66.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Sean about creating fake bands, weaving horror lore and Easter eggs into his music, and some of the famous guests that appear on his albums. Because I’m a goober and forgot to hit “record” on the video right away, this video begins after I asked Sean what possessed him to create, of all things, Halloween albums.

**Reference note for timestamp 12:01 — Rowan Morrison is a pivotal character in Robin Hardy’s The Wicker Man, released in 1973. If you haven’t seen that movie, we can’t be friends. Okay, I take it back. We can be friends, but you really need to watch The Wicker Man.

Here’s a taste of the mad joy you’ll find on the Killer Sounds of Halloween albums!
