31 Days of Horror 2024: Gilbert Speaks on ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ – Season 2 Episode 2

Daryl is trying to convince Isabelle and Laurent to go home with him, while Carol is trying to reach Daryl. Both need to watch their backs.

The Book of Carol: Moulin Rouge

In this episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, we start with an average day for Daryl (Norman Reedus) He has safely returned with the hostages, and he gets to spend time with Isabelle (Clemence Poesy) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). The nest protects the boy until the big reveal, and it would be nice if we knew what Laurent’s magical powers are as far as walkers are concerned. Everybody wants this kid, inlcuding Genet (Anne Charrier), Losang (Joel De La Fuente) and Jacenta (Nassima Benchicou). Isabelle and Sylvie (Laika Blanc-Francard) are trying to keep the boy safe while also believing that he can save the world.

I keep wondering if we need to be just as suspicious of Losang and Jacenta as we are of Genet. When the boy is kidnapped, Losang and Jacenta send Daryl, Fallou (Eriq Ebouaney), Emele (Tristan Zanchi), Isabelle, and other friends to bring back the boy.

Greenland

After a fuel leak forces Carol (Melissa McBride) and Ash (Manish Dayal) into a forced landing, they are rescued from Bog Walkers by two female scientists, Eun (Minami Bages) and Hanna (Maria Erwolter). These two ladies are looking for something that neither Ash nor Carol are willing to give.

Conclusion with Spoilers

At this point in the game, it is impossible to write a review without spoilers, and there are so many in this episode. I am enjoying the Carol part of the episode a bit more than Daryl’s. Carol is the more dangerous of our dynamic duo, we knew this from TWD S04. While Ash is excited to meet new people, Carol knows that people are more dangerous than walkers…and she is right, especially after learning why Eun and Hanna are so interested in Ash, and why Carol is considered an Airline’s lost baggage.

The Nest has its own traitors within, and we soon learn who was really behind the boy’s kidnapping. Again, it is frustrating not knowing what Laurent’s secret powers are, and why so many people are willing to kill their friends over the boy.

Ash and Carol do land in France. Ash stays with the plane to do repairs, and we are offered a different view of the city as Carol makes her way through La Defense where the Arche de la Defense and Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel are located. Google it. While Carol is captured by Genet’s, Daryl, Fallou and Isabelle plan to rescue the boy.

Big spoiler for us fans who want Carol and Daryl to be together…Daryl kisses Isabelle. NO! Isabelle needs to go!
