Trailer Time: James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’

James Cameron and 20th Century Studios dropped a brand new trailer today for the big, splashy sequel to Avatar, which I remember to be a movie about fish people trying to protect their magical tree.

Thirteen years after the release of the first movie, Avatar: The Way of Water sure looks pretty, and brings back magical tree-mutilating villain Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang), and star-crossed lovers Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and resident of Pandora Neytiri (Zoe Saldana). Joining the cast are Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Jermaine Clement, and Edie Falco. James Cameron, control freak that he is, is writing, producing, directing, and editing the film.

The Way of Water jumps ahead a decade from the original, set in 2154, and focuses on Sully and Neytiri’s children and their family unit. The film comes to theatres on December 16.
