It was a big weekend at the box office, as audiences showed up in large numbers to see the continuing adventures of Anna and Elsa.
Frozen II debut with an outstanding $127 million, easily outpacing every single movie currently in release. Clearly, families have been waiting for this sequel, which received strong reviews. Depending on how the actuals turn out on Monday, Frozen II will have either the fourth or fifth highest November opening on record.
As for the rest of the top five, Ford v Ferrari dropped to second place with $16 million. A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood debut in third place with $13 million, lower than we predicted. It will certainly be interesting to see if the film has legs as we enter awards season.
