It’s No Myth – ‘Abominable’ Hoping To Be Seen This Weekend

Will a family film take over the number one spot from the British currently ruling the box office?

You’ll have to see it to believe it, but I definitely think Abominable is going to have a solid debut this weekend. The Dreamworks picture is, according to BBP!’s Princess, “cute. I just like how cute is, specifically the girl’s relationship with the Yeti.” Yes, we saw Abominable during the Toronto International Film Festival and it was entertaining, with its heart in the right place. After a few weeks of horror and culture on top of the box office, it;s time for a family film to take over. Look for a first place debut for Abominable with $24 million.

As for the rest of the top five, Downton Abbey will fall to second place with $18 million. Ad Astra will be in third place with $12 million, while IT: Chapter Two will follow behind it in fourth with $9 million. Rambo: Last Blood will close things out in fifth place with $8 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) Abominable – $24 million
2) Downton Abbey – $18 million
3) Ad Astra – $12 million
4) IT: Chapter Two – $9 million
5) Rambo: Last Blood – $8 million

Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how the weekend turns out!
