Spider-Man: Far From Home swung into theatres this weekend, the final instalment in Marvel Studios’ Phase Three, and managed to make a whole lot of money in just a little bit of time.
Unsurprisingly, the movie debut at number one over the three-day weekend, bringing in an estimated $93.6 million. While that may seem a little underwhelming, keep in mind that the movie did arrive in theatres this past Tuesday, so audiences had a few days to get on the Spider action before the weekend. The movie’s six-day total is already an outstanding $185 million, a record for the 4th of July time period. Spider-Man: Far From Home is free and clear for the next two weeks to make all the money until the release of Disney’s The Lion King.
As for the rest of the top five, Toy Story 4 was in second place with $34.3 million. Yesterday was in third place with $10.3 million, followed in fourth place by Annabelle Comes Home with $9.75 million. Disney’s Aladdin closed things out in fifth place with $7.6 million.
