There are no big releases happening this weekend, so it will be a battle of familiar films for the top of the box office this weekend.
Ralph Breaks The Internet has been performing very strongly throughout the week, though it has been duking it out with Creed II for the top spot daily. However, it is the weekend, and as we head into December, it should have no problem holding on to the top spot at the box office for a second weekend in a row. Look for it to bring in about $30 million to maintain its hold.
Creed II has also been a favourite of audiences, and with word this week that Sylvester Stallone is saying he’s finished playing the character of Rocky, there could be a swell of adults heading out to see this supposed final turn. Look for a second place place showing with $19 million
As for the rest of the top five, Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch will be in third place with $17 million. The failing Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindlewald will be in fourth place with $10 million, while Bohemian Rhapsody will close things out in fifth place with $8.5 million.
The weekends one new release, the horror film The Possession of Hannah Grace, will debut outside the top five and make no real impact.
So, to recap, here are our predictions:
1) Ralph Breaks The Internet – $30 million
2) Creed II – $19 million
3) Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch – $17 million
4) Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindlewald – $10 million
5) Bohemian Rhapsody – $8.5 million
