No Tricks, Only Treats For ‘Halloween’ (2018) In Its Second Weekend

The Boogie Man came knocking, and audiences were quick to open the door for a second weekend in a row.

Halloween (2018) remained on the top spot of the box office, bringing in an estimated $32 million. The film has now grossed $126 million, off of a $10 million budget. This is the most successful film in the franchise yet, and some sort of sequel appears to be inevitable. Personally, I’d rather see Blumhouse and company leave well enough alone; I don’t think they’re going to create a better finale than what’s in theatres right now. But hey, I could be wrong.

As for the rest of the top five, A Star Is Born continued its hold on the number two spot, bringing in $14 million, raising its own total to $148 million. Venom was in third place with $10.8 million, and it’s well on its way to passing $200 million, as its currently sitting at $187 million.

Goosbumps 2: Haunted Halloween was in fourth place with $7.5 million, while Hunter Killer debut with a lacklustre $6.6 million to claim the fifth spot.

So, to recap, here were our predictions:

1) Halloween (2018) – $35 million
2) A Star Is Born – $14 million
3) Venom -$13 million
4) Hunter Killer – $13 million
5) Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween – $7 million
