We’re closing in on Halloween, both the new movie which opens Friday and everyone’s favorite holiday.
Hulu has a wide array of movies and television series as part of their Huluween line up and Netflix has unleashed Gareth Evans’ The Apostle and Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House.
Scream Factory will make November 27th a national holiday when they release a four-disc Critters collection, with remastered versions of all four films and loaded with extras. I know Critters is widely regarded as one of many Gremlins knock offs, but for my money I always liked Critters more. There’s just something about those mean spirited, flesh eating balls of fur that is just so damn charming.
We got our first look at Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer’s new adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. The directing duo that brought us the indie masterpiece Starry Eyes looks to update (in my opinion) King’s scariest novel with a few surprises of their own. There’s also some synergy between what we see in the new trailer with Hulu’s King series Castle Rock in the group of creepy kids in masks performing a grown up ritual. Check it out…
