Will Audiences Return To Sin City? Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions

It’s been nearly a decade since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller unleashed Sin City upon the cinematic world. Will it’s long-awaited sequel find an audience or is it too late? Here’s our prediction:

Sin-City-A-Dame-to-Kill-For-teaser-posterSin City: A Dame To Kill For has everything going for it – style, stars and source material. 9 years may be a long time to wait for a sequel, but the original still maintains high regard among genre fans, which could help this installment find an audience. Some speculate that the film’s time may have come and gone, but I’m going out on a limb and will predict a first place showing with $30 million.

Also opening this weekend is If I Stay, based on a 2009 novel and staring the appealing Chloe Graze Moretz. This could be Sin City’s main competition and will certainly appeal to a oyunger audience. Look for a second place showing with $20 million.

As for the rest of the top five, Guardians of the Galaxy will be in third place with $15 million, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be right behind it in fourth with $14 million, while new release When The Game Stands Tall will close things out in fifth with $11 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

1) Sin City: A Dame To Kill For – $30 million
2) If I Stay – $20 million
3) Guardians of the Galaxy – $15 million
4) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – $14 million
5) When The Game Stands Tall – $11 million

Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how the weekend turns out.
