The Lego Movie did big business, bringing in $69.1 million to open in the top spot. The reviews have been over the top positive for the film, and clearly families who build together, go the movies together. The film should settle in for a few more weeks at number one.

Debuting in second place with $22.1 was The Monuments Men, a solid number for a dramatic film and good counter programming to The Lego Movie. In third place was Ride Along with $9.3 million, followed by Frozen in fourth with $6.9 million. Lone Survivor closes things out in fifth with $5.7 million.
