It’s A Numbers Game As Scary Movie 5 Takes On 42 – Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions

A comedic horror franchise or a film about a legendary baseball player – will either top the box office this weekend? Here are our predictions:

ScaryMovie5There’s something scary about the fact that this weekend sees the release of the fifth Scary Movie film. That means that the previous four have made enough money to warrant yet another installment. But people love their parody flicks, and with both Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen appearing in this one, Scary Movie 5 should scare up business this weekend. Look for a first place finish with $22 million.

42_film_posterFor the adult crowd, I’m fairly certain they’ll be heading to 42 this weekend. The story of Jackie Robinson has huge buzz and should appeal to a wider range of people – from baseball fans to drama lovers. Will this be a Trouble With The Curve or a Moneyball? Let’s go with the latter. I’m predicting 42 winds up in second place with $20.5 million.


As for the rest of the top five, Evil Dead will fall to third place with $13.5 million. The Croods should claim fourth with $12 million, while G.I. Joe: Retaliation will close things out in fifth with $10 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

2) 42 – $20.5 million
3) Evil Dead – $13.5 million
4) The Croods – $12 million
