Some cynics have always thought the mere existence of Tom Cruise would somehow bring about the end of the world. In Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s movie, Digger, that theory comes true. Here’s the logline: “The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.” That’s it! That’s all we get. Well, that and this trailer. Visual callbacks to other Tom Cruise movies abound, as do remnants of Dr. Strangelove, and an unsettling cat. Take a look at Tom Cruise as an old guy with far too much power in this trailer for Digger.
