Exclusive Interview: Andy Burns Talks to Crown Lands About Their New Album ‘Apocalypse’

Few, if any bands, wave the progressive rock banner more proudly in 2026 than Crown Lands. The Canadian duo of Cody Bowles (vocals/drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitars/bass/keyboards) wear their musical inspirations on their sleeves, but still manage to create a sound that’s uniquely their own.

Album cover for 'Crown Lands: Apocalypse' featuring a red dragon flying near a green planet, with a dark cosmic background and surreal landscapes of rocks and plants.

Following the release of their 2023 album, Fearless, and the two-part instrumental 2025 EP, Ritual, the 2021 JUNO Award winners for Breakthrough Artist of the Year have returned with Apocalypse, another adventurous helping of prog rock, highlighted by the 19-minute title track.

I had the chance to talk with Cody and Kevin of Crown Lands about Apocalypse, musical influences and inspirations (including our shared love of Yes), and much more.
