Toy Fair Updates for the Figure Friday Fans

It seems like just yesterday I was telling you all about the Mattel/TMNT announcement. With so many press releases leading up to and now kicking off Toy Fair in New York, I thought it appropriate to keep You, Dear Reader, in the loop of all the news that catches my attention.

Zanya & Dreadnok Chameleon

Zartan’s daughter gets a Swamp Sled? Yes, Please.

Professor Rottclaw & Cobra Deinonychus

Of course Cobra made dinosaurs. The alt head is a Paleo Viper if you want to troop build a Jurassic Park Brigade.

Cobra-La Royal Guard

Still waiting patiently for Golobulus, but the Cobra-La Royal Guard looks perfect!

Night-Creeper (D.I.R.E. Tech)

Another Walmart Exclusive pretty green translucent effects figure. It feels like we’re building towards an entire subset of D.I.R.E. Tech characters, and I ain’t mad at it.

Hydro-Viper

Toss that diver head in the fodder bin because no one is displaying this figure with anything other than that crazy ass Devil fish head and matching flippers. Gimme!

Ninja Force Zartan

Kudos for including a nice drawn back bow and arrow so we can hit the classic pose on Ninja Force Zartan.

Sundown

Brand new character. Cowboy bounty hunter. Works for me!

Red Dog & Taurus

Sgt. Slaughter gets to add more Marauders to the mix!

Cobra Overkill

They went for it on this one. Interesting placement for the tongue on that snake.

Airtight

I always loved the Joes that had a pop of color. Looking forward to Airtight breaking up the olive green/khaki monotony.

Dawn Moreno Snake Eyes

I am not up on current comics continuity, so I have no idea who Dawn Moreno is. I’m down with Lady Snake Eyes, though.

I have wanted a Smart Hulk forever. The pink bunny slippers seal the deal!

Iron Spider (Aaron Davis)

The metallic black and gold on this figure is striking. It will look great on the shelf!

Secret Wars Daredevil

I just so happen to be in the market for a classic Daredevil. That effect looks cool AF.

Secret Wars Spider-Man (Alien Costume)

In a world where we’ve had millions of Spider-Man figures, this is certainly one of them. Someone hands me this figure, I thank them and happily display it. Not sure this would be worthy of a purchase.

An updated Falcon WITH Redbird? Hell yeah!

You can never go wrong with a classic X-Men suit and a sword with pretty effects.

Secret Wars Absorbing Man

More man. Less absorption.

Secret Wars Constrictor

He looks frustrated that he can’t get his tentacles untangled so he can do more constricting.

Maximum Series Thor

I was a big fan of the modern era Thor when he rebuilt Asgard in Oklahoma. Olivier Coipel’s take on the classic look was gorgeous. This figure and the wired cape are perfect, but how did we not get the swinging Mjolnir effect?

X-Men ’97 Archangel

Goodness gracious those wings are breathtaking. Such a huge upgrade from the old ones and I had no complaints with those. Can’t wait for this one!

Black Widow & Quicksilver

Any time we can get updated head sculpts for classic Avengers, it’s a win.

Bullseye & Muse

I saw Dan Yun from the Marvel Legends team trying to stress that Muse has red paint splatter and NOT blood. Whatever. Give me bloody Legends where they make sense. These look rad.

X-Men Retro Card Onslaught

This is a BIG boy. Really has a presence on the shelf.
