XIXA – Tucson’s psychedelic cumbia-rock duo XIXA just dropped “It Doesn’t Matter,” the second single from their upcoming album XOLO. Featuring Robbie Grey and Mick Conroy of Modern English, the track blends ‘80s post-punk with XIXA’s Latin mystic rock sound. Dark and hypnotic, the song stands out as a moment of despair in the album’s mythic journey. The album explores Aztec and Mayan mythology through swirling psychedelic sounds and gripping cinematic storytelling. XOLO is due out on March 21 via Jullian Records.

The original song struck such a chord with frontman Mitchell Vinkour, who was in tears after first hearing it while on a bus ride. This track is part of Two-Man Giant Squid’s upcoming self-titled album, due March 7 via Mint 400 Records.
