For progressive rock fans, 2024 was a big year, thanks for the release of True, the first studio album from legendary Yes vocalist Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks. Led by Richie Castellano, the Band Geeks are an online group of longtime friends and musicians known for their fantastic covers, including multiple Yessongs.
Following a successful tour together in 2023 titled “Yes Epics & Classics”, Anderson and the Band Geeks decided to create an album of new music. You can read our review of the album here. With amazing musicianship, prog rock hooks, and Anderson’s unmistakable vocals, still strong in his 80th year, my review makes it pretty clear why I’d recommend picking up True for the prog and classic rock lover in your life this holiday season.
