A new animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons Watchmen is on the way. All I can think is, is this really necessary?
Do we need another version of Watchmen, following the various iterations of Zack Snyder’s 2008 film, along with the Watchmen Motion Comic that was released at roughly the same time. Not to mention the various reissues, prequels, sequels, and tv show.
My answer is to my own question is, I don’t know. But I suppose I’m willing to give this animated movie a try when it arrived on digital August 13. Check out the red band trailer below and you’ll see and hear that it appears to hit all the right beats.
Who watches the Watchmen? Probably me.
