Today sees the premiere of the new series Solo Leveling on Crunchyroll, and let me tell you, it is excellent.
The series, in which humans known as hunters are tasked with closing off dungeons and portals where monsters can get through, is a mix of Dungeons & Dragons and sci-fi. Full of excellent animation, Solo Leveling features a compelling lead character in Jinwoo Sung, a low-level hunter with a knack for bad luck.
The first episode of Solo Leveling will be available exclusively in North America on Crunchyroll, and I can pretty much guarantee that the cliffhanger ending will have you itching to watch the second episode ASAP.
Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but in Jinwoo Sung’s case, whatever killed him made him stronger. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way.
