“It’s breathtaking…”
Warner Brothers got us all hot and bothered last night with the news that a new trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s followup to his 2021 Dune: Part One, creatively titled Dune: Part Two, would be dropping today at 11:59 AM EST. True to their word, we’ve got it fresh out the kitchen and it looks possibly even more stunning than I was expecting.

We got a little taste of what Part Two has to offer with the stills revealed on Vanity Fair last week, so it’s clear that WB is making sure we’re ready for the film’s theatrical release on November 3.

Everything about the new film is bigger, including the cast which adds Austin Butler as Feyd, Florence Pugh as Irulan, Lea Seydoux’s Lady Margot of the Bene Gesserit, and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV to an already packed-to-the-gills cast of Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Stellan Skarsgard, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling.
Villeneuve says that Dune: Part Two will adapt the second half of Frank Herbert’s novel, and will focus on both the war for Arrakis as well as the love story between Paul and Chani. “I wanted to make a very human movie, very close to the characters, despite the scope of the film,” he says. “I kept saying to my crew, ‘The most important thing is that spark, that relationship between both of these characters.’ If we don’t capture that, if we don’t have that onscreen, there’s no movie. The epicenter of the story is this relationship.”
Enough babbling from me and DV though. The trailer must flow:
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two come to theatres on November 3 from Warner Brothers.
