Star Wars Celebration wrapped up earlier this week and Hasbro had a lot of nice reveals. This year we were treated to not only Star Wars, but Indiana Jones as well. Let’s take a look at the figure fortune and glory from the Land of Lucas.

Krrsantan
Good things come to those who wait, and if you weren’t a fan of the previously released comic-inspired Krrsantan, your day has arrived. Not only is Hasbro bringing the big guy to The Black Series, but The Vintage Collection as well. The Vintage Collection gets the slight edge here based solely on the accessories, including some nice electricity effects for his knuckle dusters. Both figures look fantastic with a really good likeness to his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett.

Jabba the Hutt
One of the more expensive pieces on the secondary Black Series market is the San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Jabba the Hutt. It stood out from the regular retail offering by including his hookah pipe and rail accessory as well as his pet Kowakian Monkey Lizard, Salacious B. Crumb. Hasbro has taken the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi as the perfect opportunity to revisit Jabba’s Palace. Now in retro packaging, we get the same Jabba and accessories as before, but Salacious B. Crumb now features updated articulation.

Dok Ondar
If you’ve been to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, you probably popped into Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. That’s the gift shop where you can acquire all kinds of rare artifacts from across the galaxy. Dok Ondar, the proprietor of the establishment is an Ithorian, a species easily recognized by their hammer shaped heads. The Black Series has been in desperate need of some more aliens, and finally ShopDisney is coming to our rescue by releasing Dok as an exclusive. This is one of the best-looking figures Hasbro has offered and will be a must have when he goes up for preorder on May the 4th.

The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter
This might be the highlight of the show for me and I don’t even collect TVC. Mando’s new ship sent collectors to vintage bins in search of the Naboo Starfighter from the Phantom Menace. If you couldn’t find one of those or didn’t want to ruin that beautiful yellow paint job, Hasbro’s got your hookup. The N-1 went up for preorder on Hasbro Pulse and Amazon and sold out rather quickly. You can still grab one at BBTS, if you’re in the market. The thing I love about this set is the fact that it’s all inclusive. You get the N-1 with stand, The Mandalorian with soft goods cape, Beskar Spear, Dark Saber, pistol and jet pack, as well as a Grogu that’s destined to stare at space whales through his covered copilot seat. It’s a gorgeous looking offering and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Temple Escape Indiana Jones
This one stings a little bit for me as I just picked up the recently released Indy from the Ark of the Covenant wave. If you haven’t picked up that figure yet, you may want to hold off for this version instead, as it comes packed with the Fertility God Temple from the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I’m excited to see where this line goes. The figure itself is classic Indy. There are a few things that Hasbro could have done to improve the figure. A removable hat or alternate hatless head with a spare hat accessory would have been nice, but I’m guessing we’ll get plenty more Indy heads as the line grows. The plastic whip provided is a bit limited. It kind of gets the job done, but a bendy wire whip would have been ideal. I was impressed with the face sculpt, as the promo shots really don’t do it justice.

Short Round
The reemergence of Ke Huy Quan has been one of the most heart-warming stories of the past year. Quan was a huge part of my childhood with iconic performances as Data in The Goonies and of course, Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Short Round looks to be a “Y” on his detachable “not New York” hat away from being a pretty perfect offering. Packed with a soft goods jacket, torch, knife and voodoo doll, Short Round also becomes the first Adventure Series figure to get a removable fedora. I’m excited to add Short Round to my figure shelf. If we could get some decent Goonies figures in 6 inch scale, I could die a happy man.
Before we close out, let’s say a little prayer and pour one out for Plastic Free Packaging. The hot button collecting topic was finally put to rest by Hasbro as they announced that ecofriendly plastic will be returning soon. RIP PFP. You will not be missed by many.
