I’ve been lukewarm on the Bond franchise for the last couple of installments, but in only two and a half minutes of the brand new trailer for No Time To Die, the 25th franchise film and the 5th for Daniel Craig, my interest is piqued. Absolutely stunning cinematography and the addition of Phoebe Waller-Bridge (only the second woman writer on a Bond film and the first since From Russia With Love and Dr. No in the 1960’s) to the writing team sounds like the recipe for a much-needed refresh for the Bond series.
No Time To Die stars Craig and returning stars Léa Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as the MI6 head honcho M, Ben Whishaw as gadget guy Q, Christoph Waltz as the dastardly Spectre head Ernst Blofeld, and Jeffrey Wright as CIA operative Felix Leiter. Joining the franchise for the first time are Rami Malek as the film’s main villain Safin, Lashana Lynch as a fellow ’00’ agent Nomi, and Craig’s Knives Out co-star Ana de Armas as CIA agent Paloma.
Also new to the franchise is director Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation) who co-wrote the script with Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve). Billie Eilish performs the title track for the film.
Set to release this summer but postponed because of ~ our uncertain times ~ , No Time To Die will now come to UK screens on November 12, with a North American release on November 20.
